An absolutely beautiful piece, and what a unique form of nature writing, I love how immersive it is. British Columbia seems like a stunning part of Canada, how I'd love to visit one day. I know my readers will enjoy your essay, so I've shared it in my Sunday post.

Jodie, thank you so much, I'm so pleased you enjoyed the immersive aspect of my writing. I hope you can see BC for yourself one day also, it has so much beauty that can hardly be conveyed through a few photos. I'm so honoured you decided to include this post in your own, thank you so very much! ♡

I hope so too, but I'm so glad I can experience some of the beauty through your essays.

I first read your word, "reinvigorated," as rainvigorated. I had to go back to look at it again, and then began to giggle. The forest fairies had, indeed, slapped me silly with fun interpretations as we read this story together. "It looks like the leaves are coated in frost in the way they glitter"....I could really get a sense of the glitter, like fairy dust. Just beautiful, Whitney, so very open to expansiveness all the way around. Your words and images nourish my playful spirit.

I was going to comment on how dense this seemed. At the same time, I got to the point in which you use precisely that word. Your photographs give me the feeling that this was a powerful and uplifting type of dense rather than one that pushes you down. Beautiful as always.

I love how you differentiate that - it absolutely felt that way, not at all heavy or a slog. So glad you enjoyed, thank you Martin.
