This walk was extraordinary! Although I'm captivated by the stature of these majestic giants, I can't help but focus on the root system. I'm curious how far the underground system extends and expands, maybe in equal proportion to the height. It feels so wonderfully supportive, for the individual tree and all its extended, rooted in harmony, network. Thank you so much, Whitney.

The roots were also in my thoughts while I was out there, they must be massive and all interconnected underneath the earth. I love how trees form this network with each other beneath what everyone can see. ♡

Oh, wow!! This is really beautiful!! I envision an image where we are part of this massive, "unseen" network, unseen but so very much alive with energy orchestration connecting to all parts of ourselves. This is your part for me, and it's such a continually expansive gift! 🥰

This just might be my favorite post you’ve done! There is something so breathtaking walking among giants and your photos took me right along the path with you. How can we not revere such aged majesty? In my wildest imaginings, I can picture myself living in an old moss covered cabin amongst that forest!

Oh, Judy, thank you! I'm so happy you liked this one so much. It was such a beautiful experience and I'm so glad I get to share it. That's exactly how I picture my future too, in a little wood cabin surrounded by trees. ♡♡♡

"It is not so much for its beauty that the forest makes a claim upon men's hearts, as for that subtle something, that quality of air, that emanation from old trees, that so wonderfully changes and renews a weary spirit."

I recently visited a lovely forest. I’m usually too tired at the weekend to go for a trek. I’m so glad I did. Sitting amongst some venerable Oaks reminded me of the amazing calm that pervades natural woodland. We can forget how much we need it.

It's true, sometimes we don't realize how much it's missing until you get out there and take a deep breath. I'm glad you were able to do that for yourself. ♡♡♡

Whitney, this exquisite post has brought me to tears for the nearby forest I lost a few years ago to thoughtless people and their craving for money. They could not and still cannot see what they destroyed. I needed that cry. I so appreciate your love of your forest and how you share it.

Oh, it's just heartbreaking, all this destruction of our natural world. I'm sorry you lost that special place. I'm glad to share mine with you. ♡

I hope you still have somewhere to visit. Losing a forest is heart breaking.

Thank you for sharing your experience of walking among these ancient giants, Whitney. What a privilege it is to be in their presence. I have had similar experiences with our Australian giants. https://open.substack.com/pub/glynsmusic/p/among-giants?r=3w1kec&utm_medium=ios
