Sunshine After the Rain
wander the forest with me, lay on the soft moss and watch the sun filter through the trees
My steps tread along familiar trails as the sky-filling clouds slowly dissipate; vibrant blue starts to take over and softened beams of sunshine filter through the trees, dappling the forest floor in patches of shade and light.
The forest in spring is eye-catching, to say the least; the evergreen trees dance in the breeze with cool shades of green and the moss covers the forest floor like a thick colour-shifting carpet; there are warm yellows and cool greens and patches of white lichen scattered throughout.
That mossy carpet blankets nearly every inch of the section of woodland I’ve visited — it’s my favourite area for that reason; every direction I look is green and every surface I graze my hands along is soft.
I also get to experience the added beauty of a recent rainfall; tiny raindrops still clinging to the tendrils of moss, adorning the ends of needles and cedar like diamonds hanging from a necklace.
I come home with knees aching and damp, having crawled along and lain on that wet moss in order to immerse myself in the smallest of worlds I could see. The dirtied clothes and slightly aching body are worth it every time, with views such as these.
As always, thank you for joining me on my wander.
I’ll see you next time,
♡ Whitney

Dear Whitney, it's so heart warming to see how you notice the smallest of details with your beautiful photography. Isn't it a great art form to practice presence and mindfulness?
All the green is so beautiful 😍
