Seeking Quiet Spaces
welcoming summer, despite the noise it brings, and continuing to find the quiet moments
The solstice has come and gone, officially delivering us into the days of summer. The longest day of the year dawned moody and grey — a thick layer of clouds settled in over the mountains and low into the valley, and the steady patter of rain on the roof was all I could hear.
The changing seasons are celebrated with a walk in the forest — rain, snow, or shine. Truth be told, being out in the rain is one of my favourite things, I love how the clouds swirl and shift across the mountains, the sound of the rain as it drums on my jacket or the leaves surrounding me, how it feels like I’m entirely alone with the forest all to myself as most people stay inside and dry on such moody days.
Sunshine has its own brand of magic, and I find joy within its rays too, but the rain holds the majority of my heart in its grasp.
