Let Quiet Fall
within the woodland realm
Step beneath the canopy, let quiet fall.
As the sun chases shadows, and the shadows chase sun.
A slow, wandering pace. One step. Another. Nothing to rush to, nothing to rush from, now within the woodland realm.
Dappled light. A green expanse. Birds above. Where a soft breeze flows.
Follow the path, this way and that. Step off into the unknown, gentle and soft. Lightly, step lightly.
Deeper through the trees. Fingers grazing craggy bark. Sighs escaping, releasing stress, carried away on summer’s breath.
Yellow stars bright and glowing. Petals small, stems bent and crooked, there is no perfection here. And yet… It is aching in its perfection.
Through the trees, a glinting. A burble, a babble, a river sparkling.
The water holds onto its icy past, so far from the glaciers and snow it began as. Down, down, down it has tumbled and flowed and bubbled and rushed. To the valley below, and onward still.
Caterpillars creep across rocks, and flowers sprout in the sandy soil.
An oasis found.
Grasses reach tall. Swaying. Whispering. Cocooning secrets and creating calm.
Sit within the meadow, and let her secrets unfold. Purples dance, some tall, willowy. Some short, bushy. White peeks shyly from the verdant growth.
And what else could matter, but this?
Buttery cups wave peacefully along a ferny backdrop.
A gentle shush shush shush sounds as foliage brushes feet, calves, knees. A greeting from the undergrowth. A tender brush, a softened caress. Gentle in its welcome.
Fingers graze, while eyes linger.
No trace left behind, footsteps swallowed by the forest.
Until next time,
♡ Whitney

Stunning! One of the best you have posted in my opinion. I especially loved the photo of the water with the trees hanging overhead. Thank you.
So incredibly beautiful ♥️
