Hello again. It’s been a little while — 10 days since I last shared here.
I am undergoing some changes in my little world, I feel a shift in my focus and priorities. That combined with the autumn creative lull in which I find myself, I just haven’t had much to say.
But here I am, just for a moment or two, to share a few captures from this last little while and some adjustments I am currently making to ensure I can move through this period of change a little more smoothly.
Mostly, my attention has been on exploring a new career path — I have researched and read, explored and pondered, and have settled into a new direction that I am quite excited about. I have been working through a little training and am hopeful about my future embarking down this new road.
Needless to say, that has taken so much of my energy and focus that I have had little left over to come here and write.
This time of year also usually brings a creative lull — and I find that I have very little motivation or inspiration to create. It’s always a little worrying at first, until I remember that ebbs and flows, ups and downs, are so natural and normal within my creativity.
I have still walked often and have been wonderfully impressed by autumn this year. The colours have been vibrant, the rain plentiful — and whether I am out in the forest or wrapped in a cozy blanket at home, I have been thoroughly enjoying this season.
With those little updates being shared, what will change with A Quiet Moment? Not too much really — anything I post, whether it’s a letter or an edition of my photo series Capturing Moments, will be shared on Sundays — no more mid-week posts. There may be a few missed weeks, but I hope not too many. By allowing photos to take the place of my words sometimes, I will likely find a bit more ease in showing up here regularly.
On with the remainder of this little newsletter — a few captures from my most recent walks.
So many wonderful yellows, reds, and oranges interwoven with those vibrant greens.
We’ve had plenty of rain, with more on the way, so the ground should be thoroughly soaked after a very long dry year.
Mushrooms are always fun to spot throughout the forest in autumn. I spotted these guys below using this tree to flourish.
And to end with, we encountered a beautiful wild friend in the trees. One who is usually shy and hard to spot, but this time, this exquisite bard owl decided to sit and watch us walk by from its perch.
I’m sending so much love out there to all of you. Thank you for spending a quiet moment with me today.
Until next time,
♡ Whitney
Even in a creative lull, your photos are beautiful.
I know what it’s like to go through a new career path as I’m currently going through one. I hope your new career path works out for you! 😊
