Hello, quiet ones. Welcome back to the forest.
Today, we wander down soon-to-be overgrown paths; the trees are vibrant and filling out their leaves, the forest floor is covered in a flourishing expanse of wildflowers, tiny buds and lush green foliage. The woodland creatures are out and about, spotted amongst leaves, flowers and branches.
Let’s immerse ourselves in these quiet moments.
Our first pause is with the ferns; still gently curled, but unfurling as the day progresses. A spider has decided it’s a good spot for its web stretching from fern tip to earth — unnoticed by me at the time, I discovered our friend as I perused my photos later that day.
I continue through the verdant green foliage, spotting everything from teeny tiny flower buds to flourishing flowers standing tall.
Soft purples, brilliant whites, and striking yellows stand out amongst a backdrop of deep green.
The sun filtered in and out of high clouds offering a soft light and gentle shadows.
These next captures are some of my favourites to date; I was enamoured with how stunningly simple the scenes were, and yet, I was moved beyond words.
The colour, the textures, the softness and the light — all coming together in perfect harmony.
The beauty found in wild spaces is not restricted to colour or vibrancy; but is also found in the patterns, shapes and lines that one must take time to truly appreciate.
Our time in the forest today will come to a close with a few little woodland creatures I had the pleasure of coming across; a cute little chipmunk finding good things to snack on, a slithery garter snake with its yellow stripes quickly hiding itself within the undergrowth, and of course, it wouldn’t be Canada without a goose making its appearance, this one perfectly surrounded by white marsh flowers.
Thank you for joining me, my friends. I’ll see you next time.

Ahh Whitney, so gorgeous. It is soooo satisfying to see plants I hold dear truly elevated via the camera lens. Your eye is a very refined guide for that tool. Pure magic✨
A truly beautiful post. I appreciate the observations, the photos, the reflections.
