A landscape encapsulated in ice.
Every branch, every needle, every cone wrapped in a glittering cocoon. The snow, now hard-packed beneath my feet, crunches and creaks as I step along frozen paths.
The deep greens of the forest peek through sparkles of white. Crystals of frost; as unique as the trees they freeze upon, myriad shapes and sizes adorn the woodland residents.
From miniature globes of ice to finger-like spikes reaching into the air; from heavily encased to a subtle glittering—each scene is its own experience.
The nearby river gurgles in its flow; it calls me, momentarily, from my quiet trees. Geometric patterns and fractals of ice creep in from the shore; the river too fast, too wide to freeze entirely, but its edges succumb to the deep cold that has settled over the land.
Back in the embrace of the woods, a memory is found of a warmer moment; delicate droplets captured in their descent to the earth, suspended in time until the next thaw.
See you next time,

Love that last photo. So beautiful, so cold looking!
