Yesterday turned into one of my favourite walks I think I’ve had in a long, long while. The conditions were perfect — after a day of rain before, yesterday morning also brought light showers.
I managed to catch the forest in a very unique, and somewhat short-lived, period. When the leaves have not fully lost their green, rather they boast a tye-dye-esque blend of colours — which was so incredibly beautiful.
I have never paid attention to autumn so early, to capture the moment things just begin to change. It was a first-time experience for me, but it definitely won’t be the last.
As I wandered down the familiar overgrown logging road, I never took more than two steps before pausing again and feeling delighted at the colours and shapes.
On top of these bursts of colour scattered throughout the foliage, I was grateful to be spending a few hours out in the rain, listening to it pitter-patter on the leaves, and hearing the rush of wind through the treetops.
As I headed back to the car to head home, I encountered another true sign of autumn — mushrooms, some further along than others, pushing their way up through the soil.
Thank you so much for joining me on another forest wander. If you ever see images you’d like to purchase as a print, please reach out. I have many images in my Etsy store, but I can also easily create a custom print for you if you see something in these posts that isn’t available in my shop.

Beautiful and stunning. Especially the tri-colored leaf?! Patience and attention to detail I need to work on cultivating. And I couldn’t help but keep thinking how awesome these photos would be as paintings
Lovely photos!
