Summer is here, both on the calendar and in nature. The spring wildflowers have faded and the summer wildflowers are in full bloom.
It’s time for long grasses and warm breezes, t-shirts and shorts, for slowing down and taking on a little less.
Quiet moments are a little harder to come by in these parts — everyone has things to do and places to go during the summer season. But I keep seeking the less travelled paths and eventually, I can settle in for a few peaceful moments.
Most photographers will say that bright sunshine is not ideal lighting, and I share the sentiment — my heart lies with moodier conditions. But alas, I will try my best to shift my focus for the summer, to expand my horizons and maybe capture something a little different.
More than perfect photographs, my joy from photography has always come from capturing a feeling, an emotion, and a quiet moment in time.
Summer brings an entirely new feel to the forest — and that’s what I’d like my photographs to embody for this time of year.
Thank you for stopping by and sharing this little summer excursion with me.
See you again soon,
♡ Whitney
I just adore your photography. I wish we could take a walk through the woods together. ♡
Such beautiful, beautiful images. I too have been drawn to the grasses and how pretty they are - something so ordinary yet so delicate.
