Capturing Moments #3
settling into more typical weather; back and forth with sunshine and showers
After a very warm and sunny few weeks, it seems we are finally settling to a more typical weather pattern — days with sun, then days with rain, a lovely back and forth that offers the best of both worlds.
The other day we adventured down a new-to-us trail not too far from home. It always amazes me that though these different spots hold many similarities, they can also feel quite different. Different flowers thrive in one area, where in others, we may only spot one or two.
This particular trail boasted fields of these vibrant orange tiger lilies.
Then there are some flowers that I’ve never spotted before, and I look forward to looking them up to discover what they’re called. These purple blooms below look to be a species of Spirea.
It’s been so nice to finally have a little break from 30°C+ days — it’s nice for a little while to wake up, throw on a pair of shorts, and lounge in the warmth, but I always find my energy slows significantly and I don’t feel like doing very much.
I’ve been walking so often these days, and capturing so many moments, it was hard for me to choose only my absolute favourites to share here.
But it’s been a really special spring this year, if I can forget for a moment, about the intense start to wildfire season all over the country. The warmth brought out more blooms than I’ve ever seen. And now, if we settle into a more typical, and cooler, June, I will be so pleased.
I hope you enjoyed a little walk through the forest with me.
See you next time,
♡ Whitney
